Security boundary: StoreCrow limits application access with an operator passcode and auto-lock, restricts local file permissions, and validates backups and portable exports. It does not replace device login security or full-disk encryption.
Recommended operator setup
- Enable FileVault or equivalent full-disk encryption.
- Use a dedicated, non-shared operating-system account.
- Keep verified backups on encrypted removable media and test recovery.
- Install only signed release builds from the approved release channel.
- Do not email unencrypted databases, backups or portable exports.
Dependencies and updates
Release candidates carry a locked dependency inventory and CycloneDX SBOM. Mac distribution and updates use the Mac App Store only; Windows uses the Microsoft Store MSIX lane. Apple's US Mac App Store listing is live at US$19.99; Windows published automatically after a pricing-only resubmission and has a visible public listing as of October 2, 2026. Windows' public purchase price and acquisition control remain unverified on Windows; see listing status. Direct Mac downloads and the separate updater are retired. Android and compatible Chromebooks are later. Store updates do not guarantee an automatic StoreCrow pre-update backup: keep verified external backups.
